This project is a set of remixes of Never Give Up, one of the best tracks from my very first album Zeun Ya Yop. I called upon 3 internationally renowned DJs with very different styles: Philou Louzolo from the Netherlands, Max Le Daron from Belgium and the South African Kapelle.

About The Remixers :

- Philou Louzolo: Philou's coming of age is defined by the forces of musical and cultural diversity, living in worlds seemingly far apart. As an adopted black child, Philou grew up with the affection of his Dutch adoptive grandparents. His grandfather taught him to listen to jazz and classical music at an early age, sparking a curiosity about his own African heritage.
Through music, Louzolo developed an early sensitivity to cultural expressions in general. The composition of his identity as a performing artist began years later, guided by the nightlife scenes of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. With a broad pan-African sound, he began to touch the hearts of large crowds, eventually pushing his popularity beyond national and international borders where he made appearances at Panorama Bar, Nuits Sonores, DGTL, Le Sucre, DJOON, North Sea Jazz, De School, Dekmantel Selectors. One of the highlights of his early success is the release of his EP 'Alkbulan Republic', which was a tribute to Nigerian pioneers such as Fela Kuti and William Onyeabor. This EP was recorded in collaboration with musicians from Ghana and Nigeria and mixed and produced by Philou in his current home town Rotterdam.
He is the founder of his own label Wokoundou, which is not just a record label but a world in itself, more like a multiverse, where time and space create an endless flow of movement, knowledge, creativity and play linking the past and present of African electronic and futuristic sounds.

- Max le Daron is a veteran DJ and producer on the global club music scene, based in Brussels with over 10 years of touring the world and producing.
Intrigued by the new wave of club and pop music from African and South American countries, he founded the label Lowup Records in 2011 alongside DJ Mellow and Mr. Orange. His passion for African music began to grow exponentially when Benjamin Lebrave, head of Akwaaba Music, invited him to Ghana in 2013 to record a bank of traditional Ghanaian percussion sounds, The Roots Of Azonto, for local producers. This led to a series of trips to West Africa, to continue this work, but also to shape productions for local talents such as Joey the Soldier and Bryte. These trips helped him forge his unique style, a mix of underground European club music and African/Caribbean dance music.
Since 2008 he has been everywhere, with former residencies in clubs in Brussels and Paris (Mirano Continental, K-Nal, Nouveau Casino, Alimentation Générale). His music has taken him to tour North America, several European countries and several times to African countries such as Ghana, Burkina Faso and Uganda, where he has participated in festivals such as the Nyege Nyege Festival, Asa Baako and Africa Bass Culture. His releases have been featured in major media outlets such as Complex, OkayAfrica, The Fader and BBC Radio 1.

- Kapelle is a young South African DJ who strives to create new avenues in the music world. He creates a unique, spacious, atmospheric, ambient and lush sound that is pleasing to the ear, although this is not his only style of music. I love artists who are in their bubbles and I couldn't resist the charm of his music.

Besides the 3 remixes produced by these DJs, you will find 2 other remixes that I made, one more festive and club and the other more soulful and dancing. Finally, as a gift and as a request from some fans, I have included a version without drums.
